Meet The Receipt Photobooth

Okay, I’ve gone and added another thing to Reel the Love…

I’ve wanted to have a photo booth for a while. It just felt like such a natural fit with the brand, but I couldn’t find one that I felt really suited the Reel the Love vibe.

I didn’t want to just add a standard photo booth to the list of things I offer. If I was going to do it, I wanted it to feel like something I’d actually be excited to have at my own event.

And here we are: the Reel the Love Receipt Photobooth.

It takes your photos and prints them onto thermal receipt paper, so instead of coming out with a traditional photo strip, you get these retro receipt-style prints.

...definitely not your standard photo booth!

It actually started with our own wedding

When we were getting in Vegas there was photo booth in one of the wedding chapels.

And when we were planning our UK  wedding, having a retro photo booth was something I really wanted to include.

That experience definitely stayed with me. A big part of what I do with Reel the Love is capturing personality, so when I started thinking about adding a photo booth, I wanted something that encouraged people to relax, get involved and have a bit of fun rather than worrying about getting the perfect photo.

So why receipts?

When I came across the idea of printing photos onto thermal receipt paper, it immediately felt like the right direction. The prints have that slightly grainy, imperfect look I liked about the vintage booths, but they’re also something completely different to a traditional photo booth strip.

You’ll still get the full-colour digital photos afterwards, but I really like that your guests have something physical to take home with them on the night too. And something they've probably haven't seen before!

Making it feel like Reel the Love

It comes with a simple white plinth, blending with your wedding styling with options to add disco ball styling of course . The receipt design and welcome screen can be personalised too, so there’s plenty of scope to make it feel like part of your event.

So where can you have one?

Although weddings were where the idea started, it definitely isn’t just a wedding thing. I can see it working just as well at hen parties, birthdays, engagement parties, anniversaries, Christmas parties, brand events, launches and pretty much any event where you want people to actually get involved.

Because it’s self-service (I'll be nearby to man it in case guests need help), guests can use it whenever they fancy it throughout the hire. Take some photos with your friends, come back later with the whole group, and inevitably take another set once everyone’s had a few drinks!

If you’re interested in the practical side, I’ve put all of the package details, pricing and styling options over on the Receipt Photobooth hire page, so you can have a proper look there rather than me turning this blog into a giant list of features.

A new addition to Reel the Love

I’m really happy to finally have a photo booth that feels like it belongs with Reel the Love. It’s a little bit nostalgic, a little bit different and, most importantly, something people can actually have fun with.

It turns out it’s the first Receipt Photobooth of its kind in the UK, which is a pretty fun little bonus.

The Receipt Photobooth is now available for weddings, parties and events across Dorset, Hampshire and the South Coast, with further afield events available by enquiry.

So, that’s the new addition. Take a photo. Get a receipt.
